一、Explain.

1. 人称的变化

e.g. She said,“I am busy.”

She said that she was busy.

2. 时态的变化

1)现在时变为过去时

2)一般过去时变为过去完成时,过去完成时不变

“Where have you been?” he said to me.

He asked me where I had been.

但是如果直接引语说的是真理或客观事实,或者有明确的过去时间状语,改成间

接引语时,时态不变。

(1) He said to me “I was born in 1978.”

He told me he was born in 1978.

(2) “The sun rises in the east,” said the teacher.

The teacher said the sun rises in the east.

3. 指示代词、时间状语、地点状语和某些动词的变化

He said to her, “Where did you meet Tom three days ago?”

He asked her where she had met Tom three days before.

here-----there; yesterday-----the day before;

said-----told; tomorrow-----the next day;

4. 不同句型的转变方法

1)直接引语是陈述句时,一般间接引语用that引导,that 可省略。

Tom said, “I was in the library this morning. ”

Tom said (that) he was in the library that morning.

2)直接引语是一般疑问句时,间接引语用whether或if 引导,谓语动词用asked,从句用陈述句语序。

Peter said to me, “Have you seen the film?”

Peter asked me if / whether I had seen the film.

3) 直接引语是特殊疑问句时,间接引语用原来的疑问词作连接词,并改成陈述句的语序。

“Where is the station?” said Tom.

Tom asked where the station was.

4)直接引语是祈使句时,用ask / tell / order sb. ( not ) to do sth. 句式。

“Please come with me, Tom,” said the teacher.

The teacher asked Tom to go with him.

“Don’t run so quickly,” Mr. Black said to him.

Mr. Black told him not to run so quickly.
